For the past ten years I have lived and worked in India, Bangladesh, Liberia, Zimbabwe, South Africa, and San Francisco for projects related to public health and development. Throughout these travels I have taken photos of people and places I have known intimately and those that I have seen in passing. These images capture ordinary moments in everyday life-moments in which we can find ourselves connected through our commonalities, and where we may also be reminded of the differences that exist due to place, politics, prejudices, and power. These photos are inspired by the pulses of life, friendship, hardship, and beauty that I have found, and are a tribute to the special people I have met along the way. |
